Today's blade server systems provide the compute node density that is necessary for high performance computing. However, blade server systems are usually limited to traditional I/O fabrics to transport the data for processing. The overhead in processing the fabric protocol wastes valuable CPU compute cycles that can make it prohibitive for processing in 'dense computing' environments.
Our products provide the optimal platform using PCI Express for connectivity. Using PCI Express as a transport medium is ideally suited for dense computing applications since there is no new software or protocols required. And they are environmentally friendly, dramatically reducing power requiements. Called the ExpressConnect family, our products are end-to-end connectivity solutions that leverage this PCI Express (PCIe).
NextIO's Express Connect products target the ioGateway segment of virtualization marketplace. They are alone in enabling seamless I/O Virtualization to all standard industry endpoints (or devices) with industry standard drivers, encompassing both expansion and sharing opportunities.
NextIO alone provides seamless connectivity to any industry standard endpoint or device using standard drivers. This any-to-any connectivity, in effect, heralds the obsolescence of fixed I/O infrastructures.

The crisis in the data center today, tomorrow and for the foreseeable future is often thought of as the need for server consolidation at a time of a continuing data explosion, an ever growing footprint and ever shrinking staff, exponential increase in storage capacity, and toughening regulatory environment - not to mention the promise of the green data center in terms of the radical reduction of power and cooling requirements.
